The MBA boys began the trip this morning with a triumphant and excited clamor. As we wolfed down the expansive (and frankly, best, in my opinion) hotel breakfast, we realized that amongst us resided the congenial face of Coach Klausner, who’d been detained for 8 hours the day before for passport errors.
The bus then took us to the locks and the Amador Causeway, where we road bikes and practiced our Spanish while ordering sno-cones. Later we took a gorgeous hike through the jungle before eating lunch.
After a four-hour bus ride, we met our new home for the week, Iguana Eco Resort in the Cócle Province. After a dinner that was requissima we played a name game that was … theatrical … to say the least. Athen after a rundown of our week, the rules of the compound, and an eye-opening reflection from the newly ex-con Coach Klausner, we finished the day with a dip in the pool and some restful sleep for Day 2 tomorrow!
